Well, I'm back from the ISTE conference. A couple of things I wanted to say:
1. It was a great and wonderful thing. It's not that I learned so much, but that I heard so and could envision so much about what the future of teaching could be....and IT IS NOT a future without teachers...some people are afraid of that. It is a future where we (teachers) have to share, and that is not a bad thing.
2. I was not scared or anxious to any great degree, which meant I could be independent, grown up, open to hear and to learn and to experience. That is a gift. Maybe only a gift if you experience not having it. I am grateful

Noreene,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you were able to go to ISTE. I am also glad that you did not feel scared or anxious at all. I know that I would probably feel nervous or overwhelmed or something. I guess it would be more overwhelmed than anything else. As you know, I am a bit of an introvert and while I would want to meet all of the people that I interact with on Twitter and through blogs, I know that I would very quickly become overwhelmed by such a large amount of social interaction in such a short time. Anyway, I am glad you went and enjoyed it all. I can't wait to hear more about all that you have learned.
Jill
Thanks Jill. I look forward to us going together next year! It is in San Diego, so that in itself is exciting. By next year, I'll know much more about what I am actually listening to!
